‘The Hunger Games’ Post!

Lots of merch is starting to get released for this film. But to start us off here is a new group photo of Katniss, Peeta and Gale. 🙂

Below are some sketches from various top designers of what that dress could have looked like. Here is what Celebrity Dirty Laundry.com had to say about the sketches:

“That’s a special dress, a costume that the production’s costume designers must get right to please the fans. That scene in which the dress is worn is such a pivotal moment to not only the plot, but in Katniss’ development as a character. It’s going to be a hard task to pull off, especially because the image of the dress itself is open to so many interpretations . . . but fans will know the right dress when they see it. InStyle got together 11 designers to whip-up a few sketches that depict what they think the dress should look like.”
Sketches of Katniss’ Fire Dress has been released. I’m so excited to see this in the movie. Which is your fav?

Now on to the merch.

Update on The Hunger Games nail polish, now “Colours from the Capitol”

China Glaze’s Hunger Games collection is back on. Lionsgate officially confirmed it in a press release a few days ago.

LIONSGATE AND CHINA GLAZE ANNOUNCE “COLORS FROM THE CAPITOL”

SANTA MONICA, CA (December 9, 2011) – Lionsgate announces that it has partnered with worldwide beauty brand China Glaze on a collection of nail polish to debut in conjunction with the March 23, 2012 release of THE HUNGER GAMES.

In keeping with the powerful themes and messages of the story, the collection of nail polish will be inspired exclusively by one of the book’s distinct settings: the Capitol of the nation of Panem. Awash in lavish fashion, food, and entertainment, Capitol citizens enjoy extreme cosmetics and body modifications, bold wigs, and outlandish costumes.

The collection of colors will be available at specialty beauty retailers beginning on March 1, 2012.

Even though they’re “colours from the Capitol”, the colours seem to match up with the industries of the 12 districts.
