Blizzard is holding a rsale right now for their World of Warcraft products until December 19. The World of Warcraft: Battle Chest is just $5 (reg. $19.99) and it comes with the original game, The Burning Crusade expansion, and a free first month of the massive MMORPG. They’ve also got both of the other expansions on sale too. The Wrath of the Lich King expansion is only $10 (reg. $39.99) and the Cataclysm expansion is just $20 (reg. $39.99). Meaning for just $35 you can get sucked in to everything that World of Warcraft has to offer, and that’s an exceptionally great deal if I do say so myself.
On top of the game being on sale, Blizzard has also discounted the adorable Pandaren Monk companion pet to $5 (reg. $10) and the epic Celestial Steed Mount to $10 (reg $25).
Definitely worth purchasing if you or someone you know has been eying any of these games.
“Skate away from her, you bitch!” This is really real folks. Check out the video below…

Now this is the kind of insanity that makes me proud to be a nerd. The Old Murder House Theatre in Austin, Texas specializes in performing movies — usually from the ’80s and ’90s — on stage. Everything from Jurassic Park to Robocop. But the company is now tackling what is perhaps its greatest, and certainly most challenging, work: James Cameron’s Aliens. On ice.
There’s a lot to love in this video: the wigs, the era-appropriate power ballad, the colonial marine armor made of cardboard, the alien made of trash bags… But the best part must be that Newt is played by a fully grown, overweight, bearded man. Well done. If this is what it means to keep Austin weird, may the city never know normalcy.
Proceeds from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s themed Xbox 360 avatar accessories will got to charity. From now until December 16, all 30+ MW3 additions to your Xbox Live avatar will be donated to Call of Duty Endowment. Two new avatars have been added: American Special Forces and Special Ops Juggernaut.
You can check out all the MW3 content here to donate to this great cause.
To go along with the sweeping changes Microsoft implimented on Xbox Live yesterday, the company has released an iOS companion app that allows you to keep track of your friends, send messages, update your profile and gaze longingly at your gamerscore while you count the hours until you can return to your 360. The Xbox Live app is free. Here’s the app store link.
If you’re a Windows 7 Phone user, there’s love for you, too. The Xbox Companion for Windows Phone 7 is live as of yesterday, and that application lets you do everything the iPhone version does, but also lets you control content from your Windows phone. Amazing…and also, free.
