Ready For Another Disney Re-release in 3D?

After The Lion King made over $93 million domestically with its re-release in 3D, how can Walt Disney Pictures not do the same with others. Beauty and the Beast is being re-released in 3D on January 13, 2012 for a limited engagement (that’s what they said about The Lion King).

Beauty and the Beast was the first animated film ever nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Picture, earning an additional five Oscar® nominations and winning two. It has grossed nearly $380 million worldwide.

The film, a classic “tale as old as time” was originally released in 1991. The film follows the adventures of Belle, a bright young woman imprisoned in the castle of a mysterious beast and his enchanted staff, who must learn the most important lesson of all – that true beauty comes from within.
